Broken: A Redemption Novel

This fast-paced, plot-driven novel from Layne (Isn't She Lovely) meets the definition of new adult fiction. There is a lot going on among characters at the beginning, leaving readers to wonder if there is a story here. After a couple of chapters, though, it all starts to come together as Olivia and Paul must decide whether they will help each other out. Ultimately, a solid tale and a quick read, with plenty of steamy romance and sex.

Once Upon a Billionaire

This character-driven and fast-paced novel from Clare (The Wrong Billionaire's Bed) features lots of hot, steamy sizzle. The protagonists are complete opposites, yet together they are very funny and engaging. Though part of a series, this title can be read on its own; a great summer read.

Flight Risk

This book has everything a good story needs: well-developed, likable characters and a solid plot and subplots that keep the story moving forward. Helm (Seven Night Stand) has done a fine job of weaving the backstories of these protagonists, with all their flaws and good points, with the situation at hand. This reviewer is eager to read more by Helm. Recommended for most romance fans.

Fire Inside: A Chaos Novel

In this second title in the "Chaos" series (after Own the Wind), Ashley spends more than a third of the book proving to the reader that Lanie and Hop are in a physical relationship, with lots of vulgarity and details of hot sex that make these protagonists seem a bit boring. But persistence pays off. For the remainder of the book, Ashley does a good job of developing these characters and creating a solid plot. Those who enjoy urban fiction and good, sizzling romance will find this book appealing.

Caribbean Casanova

Where else would one want to be on a cold winter's day but dreaming of the warm Caribbean sun on the island of Anguilla? While this story is short, the author has done a good job of developing these characters and creating an all-around good tale, with lots of spicy sensuality and graphic language. A good read for the beach this summer.

Million Dollar Mi$take

Character development and a solid plot are bonuses in this hot, steamy romance. There are no promises of happy endings, but there is hope that makes this book fun to read and leaves a good feeling about human nature and the need to trust in fate. Recommended.

Priceless

This steamy romance, the third title in Matthews's "Urban Fairytales" series, is reminiscent of O'Henry's The Gift of the Magi and reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas. Matthews (Happily Even After; Still the One) knows how to put the heat into those cold winter nights.—Phyllis Goodman, Clermont Cty. Lib., Amelia, OH
